Hello and welcome to Back to Eden Holistic Medicine! Since I was a teenager, I’ve been interested in herbal medicine, gardening, the healing effects of spending time in nature, and nutrition. I’ve read countless books on these subjects, and often got phone calls, texts and questions from friends and family asking me for health advice about this and that. After twenty years of personal research, I have finally decided to formalize my educational background in pursuing certification in nutritional health coaching and as a Doctor of Natural Medicine. I am currently able to offer health coaching while in pursuit of my degree.
I really love it when people get curious about how they can positively impact their own health outcomes. In this day and age, it feels like we are encouraged to look outside of our own innate wisdom for all the answers, and place responsibility for our health, or lack thereof, on others. While I believe that seeking advice from qualified health practitioners is one of the keys to success, there is no one, beyond the good Lord himself, that knows your body like you do. At the end of the day, the story you bring to the table can make all the difference in getting to the root of an issue. Being in touch with, and being honest about what has brought us where we are is part of the journey.
I invite you to join me in getting back to the roots of health and wellness. I believe that there is always hope. I have been truly amazed at the stories of so many, who’ve reversed diseases previously considered “incurable”, overcome addictions, reframed negative thought patterns to live a more joyous life or lost those stubborn twenty pounds. These stories each have a common thread, a steadfast consistency of mind toward the goal. Having a supportive community around certainly helps for those times we get stuck, need encouragement or accountability.
In this blog, I’d like to talk about these stories, what people have accomplished, and what has worked for them to get them where they want to be. For some, that might be losing stubborn belly fat, or fitting into a certain outfit. For others, that might be getting solid sleep or having less anxiety. Or maybe it is a desire to lower their A1C, improve gut health, naturally increase testosterone or reduce inflammation. Whatever the goal is, I’d love to be a part of the solution!
Sometimes the goals are really big, and they can seem so big that it is hard to know where to begin. I can help break them down into manageable, measurable smaller goals, that can ultimately get you where you want to be. Transformation takes time, but it is worth it, and it certainly helps to have someone in your corner!
